Meet Dylan

Meet Dylan

“When I moved to California, I wanted to find a church. So I did what any millennial would do. I googled ‘church’.”

Meet Dylan from Redemption Church in San Francisco.

Dylan lived in various West Coast cities and in Japan. Church involvement was always a priority, but over a period of years, Dylan felt that his spiritual life was withering.  He decided to give Redemption a try. From the moment he walked in, he got engaged in a good conversation. His needs were noted (Dylan uses a wheelchair), but not in a way that uncomfortably drew attention to them.

When listening to the message, Dylan recognized what had been missing. He says, “It was like coming out of the desert. No matter what the topic was at Redemption, the gospel was being preached.”

Ultimately, the message of the gospel was what kept Dylan coming back. He shares, “I’m happy to go to church instead of dreading it. I realized I had been going out of guilt.” Dylan is seeing spiritual growth in his life. “When you’re in a church that is healthy, God works in you. It’s a lot of small things that can bring growth - lots of little lessons. I’m learning every day how to know and love Jesus more.”
