Third Thursday: One million lives impacted by year 2034

Suncrest Christian Church in St. John, Indiana, set out to impact one million lives through church planting by 2034. Now, Lead Pastor Greg Lee believes they may double that number if current momentum continues. “It does almost no good just to start one church,” he says. “This is about a movement.”
Multiplication has defined Suncrest from the start. Even when it was a small, young church meeting in a high school, it gave sacrificially to plant others. That commitment has led to over 75 direct church plants and more than 700 more through those churches—ranging from urban churches in megacities to house churches in India and everything in between. For Suncrest, every dollar given starts with church planting: the first 10% always goes outward to help start new churches in communities where they’re needed.
“We help church planters without micromanaging,” Lee explains. “Mostly, they just need someone in their corner.”
The Orchard Group team is so grateful for Suncrest and the many other churches who partner to start new churches. These partners are fueling the mission of church planting leaders around the world. For churches hesitant to multiply, Lee’s advice is simple: “Start before you feel ready. Build a church worth reproducing—and then, reproduce it!”
